LEED for Homes Platinum Project

Jennifer Langford, AIA, CNU, PA has a new LEED for Homes projects under way! General Contractor, David Melville, is currently constructing a home in the Brytan Neighborhood in Gainesville, FL. We have hopes that the finished project will acheive LEED Platinum, the highest level of certification in the LEED for Homes program. During the construction, Mr. Melville will be offering tours to the public for anyone interested in learning more about the LEED program and home construction. You can see inovative products and construction techniques in a real project in real time.

LEED for Homes Project Completion

The first 3 LEED for Homes Certified projects in Alachua County, Florida, were completed in 2008. These 3 homes, numbers 8,9 and 10 in the State of Florida, all acheived the LEED Silver rating and were built in the Brytan neighborhood, a participant in the LEED for Neighborhoods Pilot Program.

The homes were designed by the Brytan Town Architect, Jennifer Langford, AIA, CNU, PA. The Green Rater was Mary Alford of The Sustainable Design Group, LLC. The construction was completed by Toney Sullivan Construction, and The Brice Group.
